Use it for: walls, framed mirror inserts, furniture, bathrooms, back splashes, or anything you can imagine. We can also create custom antique mirror colors see our gallery for samples.

Glass V-Grooving

Any pattern can be designed by engraving a groove in the surface of the glass. Our V-Grooving equipment is capable of producing custom engraved designs (commonly know as V-Grooving), with different profile engraving tools. V-Grooving can be done on any architectural flat glass and mirrors. V-Grooved glass can also be heat strengthened, tempered, and laminated. Custom profiles are also available.

Glue Chip

Glue chip glass is a texture that looks like frost during the winter or fern like pattern on a window pane. This attractive random pattern is created by applying hot animal glue to the sandblasted surface of clear float glass and as it dries, the glue shrinks and cools removing flakes of glass from the surface. Glue chip glass technique can be used with clear or tinted glass as well as mirrors. If extra strength is needed it may also be tempered.

Many windows and doors use this technique to add elegance to its environment. It has been used occasionally in signs and in stained glass windows since the early 20th century. Glue chip special properties allows every design to be different, giving a uniqueness to every piece of glass or mirror. As the glue dries, and contracts, it pulls flakes of glass off the surface in a random fashion. Glue chip glass is very popular for backgrounds in windows and cabinets and is especially beautiful combined with bevels and bevel clusters.

Sandblasting

There are 2 sandblasting techniques, etching and carving. Etching is when abrasive is blasted at the glass lightly to give the glass a frosty appearance. Different shades can be created by varying the speed and angle of the abrasive application. Infinite possibilities allow sandblasted glass to be a true work of art. Carving is when steadily sandblasting is done to the surface of a glass using a stencil which protects the areas you don’t want to be carved out. Sandblasting as a technique for carving can be highly customized by varying the depths and angles of cuts which create beautiful lighting effects.
